Join UsThe Nurses Honor Guard attends the funeral or memorial service for a nurse who has passed, to honor him/her and show respect for our profession, much like the Military Honor Guard. We are always looking for nurses to participate in these tributes. You’ll love how our services help bring comfort to families honoring their loved one’s Nurse Life. In response to a Funeral Director’s call, our tribute coordinators assemble a team to offer the Tribute Ceremony. It’s carefully planned & delivered with a personal touch. Each service is generally about 12-15 minutes. We may do a few services per week, or per month. Here is a video to view a tribute: And we’ll always respect your work & personal life. Costs
Dues are primarily applied to the purchase of items needed for ceremonies such as: Nightingale lamps, white roses, printed material and any other items needed for ceremonies and secondarily for meetings/events items, if needed. Prorated depending on when you join. MeetingsMember meetings are held quarterly, in the first month of each quarter (January, April, July, and October). The January meeting is designated for annual business, bylaws review, installation of officers. Meetings are held at the Deer Park Library at 4020 E. Galbraith Rd at 7:30 pm. We have a “New Member Orientation/Practice Meeting” as needed every few months. The “New Member Orientation/Practice Meetings” are held at Deer Park Library – 4020 E. Galbraith Rd at 7:30 pm. A member must participate in two events, including but not limited to: tributes/ceremonies, fundraisers, or parades and attend two quarterly member meetings during each annual membership period. We have the capabilities for you to attend virtually if that works better with your schedule. UniformsOur uniforms are vintage style nurse uniforms. Women: Vintage-style blue and red cape, nurses cap, white uniform dress (please cover any leg tattoos) or white pants and white uniform shirt. White hose/shoes--no marks. Modest jewelry. White Gloves Men: White scrubs; White socks/shoes—no marks, navy-blue jacket. Long hair tied back, facial hair neatly groomed, please.
